This Mobile Hotspots give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Works on iPad mini - Simplest modem I ever had
After looking for all the available mifi devices, I settled with this one. Received the product from HongKong to California in just a week which is good. Had a decent packaging, and the this one definitely worth the price.

I was in the market for Mobile Wifi (Mifi) because I got an iPad mini (Wifi only) as a present, and I wanted to make it work on areas where only 3G is available. I am going to use this in Asia where you won't find almost no wifi hotspots. So, this device is a must.

The packing claims 5 hours working and 280 hours stand-by battery. I'm yet to this test this because I connected the modem to computer via USB cable. I'm running on Ubuntu 11.10, and yes, it works just fine. All I had to was insert the SIM card, and the battery; power it on. Voilà, it connected to 3G in a few seconds, and showed the Wifi access point in the Wi-Fi list. Connected my iPad mini, iPhone, and the Ubuntu box in a matter of seconds.

The packaging said that...

2. It does work in the USA
For others who are wondering if this product works with USA sim cards, yes it does work. I tried it with AT&T AND T-MOBILE prepaid sim cards. All you need to do is login to the admin page and create a profile. For AT&T, the profile name is ATT and the APN IS wap.cingular username and password are left blank. It works but it is on edge network which is 2g. It is damn slow and expensive if you dont have a data package on your prepaid plan. Since it is cheaper to buy data plan with USA device, this device is mainly useful for international trip where prepaid data plan is more price friendly. As for the device itself, it is sleek and powerful. I love it and save it for my next trip to Europe. This item ship from Hong Kong and the seller was a fast shipper. I received by device within a week of purchased.

Very functional very effective, battery life a bit low.
We live in Africa where internet is difficult at the best times. I got this little guy with not a lot of hopes and it has been a champion at our place. I went from struggling with our data network to really fast wireless. It is really effective at getting us fast internet and it projects really far.

The only limitation is that the battery didn't last long. After a month it started dying earlier and earlier. But, we just keep it plugged in all the time now and it works like a champ. I recommend it for anyone traveling or in a remote area.
