1. Only one thing wrong, but it's a big one . . .
This is a great, simple phone for those who just want a phone for making and receiving calls and text messages. Reception is quite good and battery life is great -- I go days and days and days between recharges. However, the plastic cover over the display is tinted and mirrored so that it is virtually impossible to see the display outdoors in the daytime. Most phones, especially basic ones like this, are difficult to see in daylight conditions, but this one is impossible. It is so bad that am going to be getting a new phone, even though I will have to pay big bucks to do so. This is my fourth (or fifth?) Nokia phone and the first one that has disappointed me.

2. Great Potential But Nokia Removed Two MUST HAVES from this excellent phone
The 2610 had all the promise of a great upgrade that improved some of the issues I had with my GREAT 3120 and 3220 previous, and almost perfectly enjoyable, Nokia phones. But, alas they blew it with a couple of stupid and totally unnecessary killers.

First the GREAT things did with the 2610. They allow you to customize(assign)the navigation(arrow)keys to functions of YOUR choice. not theirs. They added a needed center button to the navigation keys. They replaced the infuriating proprietary NOKIA POP-PORT combination USB and HEADPHONE access port with separate STANDARD USB and HEADPHONE jacks. And they expanded the number and length of info that can be added to each addr book contact.

The killers for me? The USB port is not a PC Sync port. It CANNOT be used with Nokia's PC Suite sync software, or any other mfgs, to back up personal contact, etc info you so laboriously put into your phone. Nokia, if your reading this, without an IR or Bluetooth wireless connection...

Generally good but some issues.
Pros:
- Simple Phone, not a lot of bells and whistles.
- Good battery life.
- Sound quality good, although, occasionally, you do hear your own echo faintly.
- Comes with speaker phone which is an important feature for me.
- Customizable top two keys. I've set it to alarm clock, so my most useful feature is right on the home screen.
- Predictive text typing is good. Remembers the non-dictionary words you used in the past and uses them, so a self-learning vocabulary.
- Lightweight and Slim, so it fits nicely in the pocket.
- Displays day and date along with the current time on the home screen (if configured). A useful feature.
- Customizable Navigation Key assignments. You can assign whatever function you like to use when you press one of the navigation keys from the home screen.
- Sending SMS text messages to multiple recipients with a single message.

Cons:
- Impossible to see the display in the outdoors during the day...

To start, I like the phone: this is the first phone I have had to text with and I really like the key pad, despite it being an older model and thicker than the latest ones. I bought my phone new via Beast Deals, but when I took it to Verizon to activated it, the Sales Associate there informed me the phone was not new and even called Customer Service to prove it. My "new" phone was activated in April 2008 and deactivated from an account Sept. 2008. On a side note the Verizon Sales Associate was extremely rude and "made fun" of my phone in front of me. I was irritated that she had to prove to me the phone was used instead of just doing her job and activating it. Anyway, I went to Amazon with my info of my "new" phone being used and they didn't question it at all and simply refunded me the difference between new and used price. I don't order much through Amazon and I was disappointed to discover new items being sold as used, but Amazon did make it right by me, so please beware...

2. not so good
I have had this phone for 3 months and am NOT satisfied. It has difficulty charging, you have to keep moving the plug where it goes into the phone to get it to charge. The keys stick and you cannot text because they stick. The camera button stopped working, so now i CAN NOT TAKE A PICTURE. This phone is terrible, it cost $70 and was supposed to be new but i think they sold me a used or old phone. I emailed them saying it was terrible but got nothing back.

1. So much better than expected (and a great T-Mobile phone!)
I purchased this as a pseudo inexpensive replacement for a broken Nexus 4. Frankly, I wasn't really expecting much but I actually prefer this over the fragile (screen) Nexus 4. Yes, it is a two core vs four core processor but in normal use, I don't really experience much difference. All of these phones have gotten so powerful that at this point, anything from the past year or so has more than enough speed/ power for most users imo.

Anyway, a few things I really like on this phone over the Nexus 4 are:

1) Much more ergonomic in use as far as comfort when handling and holding. The curved, textured back of the Xperia TX is the main reason. The Nexus 4, like so many other newer phones, is a flat slab and, because of it's rear glass surface, is also very slippery to handle

2) Much better built in camera with a dedicated physical shutter button on the side of the phone.

It is the first time I own a smart phone. This phone really satisfies me. Excellent camera, awesome screen, easy to install. I love to touch its back side, very smooth and silky. Somehow, I was in trouble updating new version of android. Whenever I connect my phone with my laptop to update, it kept disconnecting all the time. 1. SVP G13 Cell Phone watch
The SVP G13 Cell phone watch work perfectly so far. I originally wanted this watch for the Media functions at first....and as I started to read reviews on other watches I thought I would give the phone portion a try. I have Sprint so I didn't have a SIM card to toss into the watch and I didn't want to have 2 full phone bills. I decided to go to T-Mobile and get a pay as you go plan...and this is totaly working out for me. I pay $30 every 90 days and I get 160 minutes of talk time and it cost me $.10 a text message and $.20 per MMS message.

1. Still/Video camera... not the best, but it will take an OK picture in good sunlight and the Video is better is good sunlight also. You can review you pictures and video through the Media player...keep in mind that the screen is tiny and if you are outside the daylight will make it harder to see the tiny screen. One thing, I downloaded a couple of MPEG-4 files and the watch could not play them back without being choppy...

2. Better than expected - Great for the price
Received the G13 watch 2 days after I ordered it. I also ordered the MQ988, both from Victor LLC. Now i am not about to say I am the sharpest tool in the shed, but as for the compaints on the manuals broken english, I have to say. I did not even look at the manual until after I had set up everything to see if I missed anything. The menus on the watch are pretty intuitive, but to be fair in this review, I have not set up the phone since I dont have my Sim card or blutooth connector. For me the phone is a secondary feature and I mainly wanted the watch for all the other items. So on with what I can say about the watch: Note: Everything starts as 5 STARS and goes down if lower than expected.

Great watch/phone, but not for people who want a full featured smart phone.
This is a great device for people who want something handy with the ability to access minimal internet sites. It is not a full featured phone, but it is excellent for what it is.

The phone works great, even without the headset. The menus are much easier than previous Chinese watch/phones I have used. However, teh web browser is burried in the settings menu, which is strange. And even after I configured the default language settings, I still get Google in Chinese. I am still figuring out how to setup email.

Here is how to setup the WAP browser for AT&T, in case anyone is hunting for these settings:

Go to menu, settings, data account, options, add. Name is AT&T (or whatever you want). APN is set to "WAP.CINGULAR". User name & password are blank. Auth type, left at normal. Primary & secondary DNS, left at all zeros.

I am just a causal user, not one the oil roughnecks on the tundra or the high-flying mountain climbers on the summit of K2. I live up here in Missoula, and a couple times of year I enjoy spending time back in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and a couple weeks a year at our timeshare in Los Cabos.

I bought the phone so that I can stay connected to the office [only when I need to], check and see how my kids are doing, and to do some email and web when needed. Fair enough.

I called Globalstar and asked them if they have service in Montana and Mexico. Funny, the Customer Care Rep. answered the question with an emphatic yes, before I even had the chance to finish the sentence. Were they even listening? I'm not so sure, and here's why.

I agree the phone service is not cheap - I had to pay $1.39/minute for roaming fees on top of my $49.95 monthly plan just to use it in Mexico. But when I...

2. Fantastic phone, service getting better each month!
First of all, the GSP-1700 is one of the most affordable satellite phones on the market. Manufactured by Qualcomm, it has a full fledged address book, location service, and ability to receive SMS messages and short e-mails. The service is only $20 a month for unlimited calling from North America to North America, and prices are what you would expect when in or calling to other countries. The overall size of this phone is fairly compact and doesn't weigh much more than say an iPhone 4. It's definitely much smaller than the older GSP-1600 phone and lighter, too.

It supports a data connection via USB through an optional (but sadly, proprietary) USB cable. Data rates are acceptable, and the data service is included in the $20/month plan. Overall, the accessories are a bit expensive as with Iridium and Thuraya products, but I'm happy to support Globalstar.

So, the catch to a cheap phone and unbelievably cheap service? Globalstar's first generation satellites have...

Good so far...
UPDATE: Still working well and I ordered the data cable. It was easy to configure using Ubuntu 12.04 using gnome-ppp. I set the baud rate to 38K, the number to #777, did a dmesg to get the device name, chopped the FCLASS command off the init string. Went outside, and started using sudo from the command line and - connected perfectly. The data rate was a little less than 9600 baud as expected. Still definitely better than no internet at all in an emergency or in the wilderness.

I've only had mine a couple weeks but my initial impression is good.

Be sure to check out the "Globalstar call times tool" on their website. Their service has indeed improved from "horrendous" to "barely tolerable", a big improvement. At one time the phone only worked a few minutes each hour. Now across most of the US its more like 45 minutes or so with their recent launch of satellites by the Russians.

i got this to replace an identical phone that was disabled in an unfortunate accident. i'd had that phone for more than two years and really like it. my fear was that i wouldn't be able to find another one and would be stuck with one of those "smart" phones. as luck would have it, the gu295 is fairly easy to find and the amazon price is pretty good.

Couldn't be Happier!
My brother had this phone for almost 2 years before it went for a swim in his coffee. We dried it out (via the rice method) but some of the buttons just wouldn't work anymore. I checked with AT&T but they don't offer this model any longer so we took a chance and ordered this one from Amazon. We stuck in the sim card and battery -- and voila! Brand new working slider phone!! I don't know why the other reviewer had a problem with the AT&T sim card but ours fit perfectly and the phone works like a charm. We're thrilled!!

1. A smurf movie for the demanding adult.
In response to some of the bad reviews here, I consider myself a pretty demanding adult but when I go to see a movie with little blue people in it I don't expect Hamlet. I expect cute, funny, light entertainment and this movie delivered in a big way. Like the previous movie, there are some simple wholesome life messages as well; "to be or not to be" it's not, but loving family members despite their faults is pretty good too. As in the previous movie, this theme repeats for the humans and the smurfs in a nice way. I'd like to comment on the short scene about peanut allergies. I didn't see it as making fun of peanut allergies but making fun of irresponsible adults who don't pay attention to allergies!. The acting is extremely appropriate, the comedy was great. There were some pretty special effects and I loved seeing bits of Paris in 3D.

2. grow up
For those of you that enjoyed this movie for what it is, congratulations!, you've grown up. As for you haters, this is a kids movie, intended for kids. It should not be filled with over-complicated plots, innuendos, or gratuitous violence to appease adult intellect or lack thereof. This movie did exactly what it was intended to do. It made my thirteen year old daughter happy and that alone is enough for me. As an adult, if you go into it light hearted, not looking for 'The Terminator' or 'Gone with the Wind', you may actually enjoy bonding with your kids. It's the 'Smurfs' people. Little blue folk that live in mushrooms and spend their existence running from a wizard and his cat. Lighten up & have fun!

The opening credits feature pop-up pages in a child's book. Every child in the screening audience recognized them right away. In fact, other than the toddler who was instantly (and vocally) bored, the rug-rats seemed very involved; they were quiet and well-behaved. These opening credits, by the way, are the only time I felt the 3D was used to any special effect. It's lovely for the travelogue/story that follows, but it does NOT enhance the plot.

New Yorkers Patrick and Grace dash off to Paris to help their friends when Smurfette needs to be rescued. To me, the joy was to recognize Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Élysées, Jardin des Tuileries, and Place de la Concorde, with a few more thrown in for good measure! 2. Characters are funny AND loveable
Too many comedies make their characters just caricatures, and push the comedy over a ledge. BETAS is funny AND the characters are people I cared about, I want to see them succeed while knowing they'll commit plenty of self-defeating laugh-your-ass-off mistakes. I want MORE!

What a great show. Love the character development. Love the writing. It's almost TOO smart for a mass crowd because most of the quick banter will go over most people's heads. Uses a lot of tech jargon. If they slow that down a bit, they'll grab a bigger audience. But I loved it.

This review is for the the no-ad 64 GB wifi-only HDX 8.9. To Amazon's credit it arrived about 2 weeks earlier than originally claimed.

I have a Galaxy S3 Android smartphone so the HDX is for media / web surfing. Since I had already been using Amazon Prime and Cloud Music it was a no brainer for me to use the HDX to fill the role of media / web surfing on a tablet.

Be informed about the download limitations to this device. Amazon has been adding clarification to this which should help would-be purchasers make a more informed opinion. This wasn't as obvious as it should have been when I ordered mine so they're listening which is good.

I was introduced to the board game "Carcassonne" a couple of years ago by a relative, and since then, we and our wives have played several times, and it's always a lot of fun. I'm playing Carcassonne on my Kindle Fire, which has a nice screen size for the game. If you're not familiar with Carcassonne, it's a unique game where players build the landscape from colorful tiles containing pieces of fields, roads, cities, and cloisters. In turn, each player positions their tiles, and optionally, places a "Meeple" on any of several locations on the tile. The game continues until the tiles run out or none of the remaining tiles are playable. Points are awarded for controlling fields, roads, cities, and cloisters, and the player with the highest score wins. 2. Finally, a solid strategy board game for the Kindle Fire
Well worth the money. It is currently the best app I have for the Kindle Fire. The AI is challenging enough to keep my attention (in fact I always lose on higher difficulties). I am not a big fan of Carcassonne the board game, but it works very well as a mobile app. The computer takes care of all the scoring and bookkeeping.

This app offers a lot of options for setup, you can choose different rule sets, number of opponents, etc. It also comes with The River expansion.

Also a plea to developers: I want good, modern board games like Puerto Rico or Catan on my Kindle Fire, I am willing to pay $5 a pop for them if they are the quality of Carcassonne. Many of these are available in the Google play store right now,please bring them over to the Amazon store as well.

Good but not great
I love carcassone! This app has the basics yet omitted the super fun expansions, like the princess and the dragon. With the five dollar price tag I thought they would be included. Fix the price or add the expansion packs and this is definitely a five star app!

This review is for the second generation Kindle Paperwhite. Like all kindle e-readers before it, this is a great product. However, I am a bit disappointed as there is not a huge improvement over last year's model. For this review, I focused on features and enhancements exclusive to the new Paperwhite and tried to make comparisons to last year's model. Also, I found somethings misrepresented or confusing in the advertising, so I will try to clear them up.

HARDWARE

Design - The Kindle white has a nice look and shape. It fits well and is easy to hold in one hand. It's fairly light, so it doesn't tire the hands too much. I can grip it for long periods before having to switching hands. Its design is very similar to the previous Paperwhite - almost identical. The height and width are the same, the buttons are in the same location, and although this version is slightly lighter, it is not noticeable.

I am a beginning runner who lives in the country. For safety, I always carry my cellphone and identification when I run, and I bought this holder to circumvent the fact that most running shorts don't have pockets.

This cellphone holder is sturdy and well-constructed, but flexible enough to allow me to slide my ID/health information cards behind the phone. The band, which fits easily around the arm or lower leg, is slightly stretchy for comfort. I prefer to wear this holder around my ankle, where it seems least likely to interfere with normal circulation.

While I haven't experienced this, I suppose it's possible that the heavier stitching on the back of the case may cause chafing if the holder is worn over exposed skin, although I'm inclined to doubt that this would be a problem.

In conclusion, this is an excellent product for a fair price. It would be useful not only for runners, but for anyone who'd like the hold their cellphone, ID, and maybe a house...

I love to go horseback riding out on the trail, and I always carry a cellphone in case of emergency. This cellphone holder can be worn on the arm or leg for secure, quick and easy access. The item description doesn't mention the adjustable velcro band is also elasticized to help keep it in place. I have worn the holder on my arm, over a slippery nylon jacket, and the holder didn't slide around as might be expected. I purchased the holder in yellow; it's a bright, bumblebee yellow, with black trim, not the soft, buttery yellow shown in the picture. Not a complaint, since it could be just the way my monitor shows it. Whatever color you might choose, I think you will find this cellphone holder a helpful item. Highly recommended!

Too Small for Most Phones
If you have a smartphone this is probably not for you.

I have an iphone 5 and it's in a puregear rock climbing case. I used this while I horseback ride and it's almost pointless. I can barely fit my iphone into the sleeve and the velcro doesn't reach around. Not to mention if you pull it too tight the band collapses and becomes twisted on the litte black plastic piece. If you have a smartphone then buy a fancier case.

tested it out in the states using T-Mobile so that I could get familiar with it before taking it abroad.
call quality is very good on this phone. I had no problem listening to people through the phone and others could hear me clearly as well.
the camera on the phone I got works great for a camera phone.
I don't know why others have had issues with the camera. Have been able to take better photos with this phone that with other phones here in the states including the iphone, the motorola droid and the samsung omnia just to name a few.
like the touch screens and that it comes with a stylus as well.
the vertual keyboard is easy to use even with chunky thumbs.
haven't tried the web browsing capabilities on the phone but didn't buy the phone for that feature.
all in all very happy with the purchase

I am quite happy with my purchase
I am a graphic designer/photographer looking for a phone that would allow me to read my mail, download and read attachments and browse the internet while I am on the road.
The LG 500kp fulfilled my expectations and more.

The different functions of the phone is easy to learn. It is small sleek looking and handy.

In my down time I can entertain myself with games or music, or watch a movie.
My only concern is it seems it is not sturdy enough to withstand the shock if it falls to the ground. I intend to buy a protective case.

I certainly would recommend this low priced phone with high end functions.

Yep, just what I wanted. New old phone. I'm using it now. Sprint had no problem making it work for me. Only bad thing is if you needed the cd with all the extra programs,(music download, program to sink with your computer...) it wasn't included. I didn't need it as I was replacing the phone sprint couldn't fix or replace. So happy I found a new one I could use. Think I'm going to order a few more so I will have them.

2. Since it's release
I've had this model since its initial release with only needing to replace it once, thus far. This purchase will be my third and as long as these phones are around I will continue to buy them. Like the other reviewer mentioned, there are more advanced phones now but this one has everything I need without the pricey data plans. But here's the best part:

The ONLY reason I'm purchasing a new one is bcz at the very bottom (where the wrist strap attaches) snapped off when I yanked it from my tight pocket by the strap to answer a call. Solid Smartphone - Even in 2012
A solid smartphone with all the important basics: messaging, email, maps, etc. Sprint lists it as a feature phone thus, it does NOT require the pricey smartphone plan. Battery life is amazing for a smartphone. I can easily get 2 days on a charge.

I realize its 2012 and there are more advance phones available, but few are this simple, have this good of battery life, and can be put on dirt-cheap plans.

I have always been a fan of Sony Ericsson phones; I had one before the smartphone boom and it was flawless. My carrier (AT&T) never carries their good phones. Good solid phone that works well. Android gives lots of options. Form factor is great. Sony update the software aswell so it stays current. Works with AT&T if you have the St 15a rather than the St 15i (international) for which data is slow.

I knew I was getting a Blackberry Curve 8330 and charger. I was pleasantly surprised to see a car charger, silicone and leather holster case and a second back with a minor scratch. The phone itself didn't have one scratch on it. There was a bit of confusion in terms of the shipping date but when I contacted the seller via email, he responded fast and cleared everything up; it even came a day early. I'm happy to find both chargers worked properly and cases were new. I paid $24.99 for all this and I'm definitely going to buy again from this seller. Two thumbs up!

The Sony Xperia U is an entry level Android device at a very reasonable price point of $219 (Although I find the price constantly fluctuating on Amazon). Keep in mind, if it's not already clear to you now, that this is a very small/thin phone. Using the iPhone as a reference, the Xperia U 3.5 in display is NOT like the iPhone's 3.5 in. Xperia U's display is taller but thinner (considerably so, which you'll notice when the keyboard comes up and how tiny certain icons such as battery, service bar, and general font), which still satisfies the 3.5 in, but keep that in mind when purchasing (I personally like small phones, not into the whole mini-tv in my pocket kinda thing). This is a Very nice phone! The screen is bright and clear. Very thin and lightweight. More that what I expected! Would order again. T-Mobile sim fit perfect and worked as soon as I put it in! Running a Straight Talk BYOP Sim and works perfect as a Second Sim for AT&T. Wishing there were some accessories.
